At LifeStory Writing we also offer further professional services in-house. The photography service includes scanning to digital, and Photoshopping for colour balance, contrast and sharpening, composition etc. We prepare all images ready for final publication (including the cover). We are able to produce all images in-house to keep charges as low as possible. We can chat about the number of photos to include and the best ways to present them.
We have our own graphic designer to project manage all layouts for your publication. This includes attention to fonts, presentation of photographs, cover design, selection of paper stock and layout generally. If you would like to self-publish (often called ‘indie’ publishing) you can manage this yourself we are happy to advise you at no charge. Or if you want, we can look after the printing and publishing process for you (in which case we simply pass on the cost price of printing per unit to you). We will allocate you an ISBN number and place your book with the National Library of Australia.
